No, Really: The Country Can't Avoid Me

I'll be on TV twice tomorrow (Wednesday); I'll be on at 9:00 a.m. on MSNBC Live, and in the afternoon on Twin Cities Live, probably 3:00 CST.

I'm not quite sure what MSNBC has in store for me, but Twin Cities Live has threatened me with a roundtable discussion of the new Twilight movie (which also opens tomorrow) and the popularity of same. They've asked me on because of my "unique perspective". I have no idea how to take that. MSNBC also wants to chat about the it's-apparently-not-going-away popularity of vamps in books, movies, graphic novels, Broadway plays, and soap operas. I have zero interest in promoting the new Twilight movie (trust me, Stephanie Meyer does not need the bucks), and plenty of interest in promoting my bad self. Never pretend you weren't warned.

I have accepted both invitations because the only thing I love more than PR is free PR.

Next week: I leave for the national book tour for UNDEAD AND UNFINISHED! Come to my signings to tell me face-to-face how annoying you find my characters!

Although I enjoy the Twilight books as much as yours MJ, I think it's pretty tacky for them to ask you to come on and promote another author's work when you have a book coming out.

Bryan said it perfect about the characters, lol. Love them! Just want more, hehehehe. But, good books come to those who wait, lol!!!!
TY for emailing me back. I'm so excited for you, I wish you all the best. People are gonna love the next book! It was FANTASTIC! :D
Have fun on tour, wish I was close for one of them. :)
Take care.

I love your undead series, but also enjoyed Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga. I think it is slightly inconsiderate of the programme to have you promoting another persons work but i also find it disheartening to hear that great author's like you and stephanie are reluctant to support and promote each other. Anyway i look forward to getting your new book. x

While I do not find ur characters annoying, in fact I quote besty on a daily basis, I would like to give my opinion on ur lastest book. I wish I was close to somewhere u are going to be cuz I would like to to hear it in person. I was with u in the book even enjoying it until the last few chapter and most certainly the epilogue crushed my look at all the books. I was planning on recommending them to a friend but now I am not sure. I'm glad I have a year to decide if I shall even read the next one.

MJ,
I have always loved your characters, I thought they were wonderful from the onset and have gotten untold numbers of others hooked. And yes, I buy the books, in hardback and they are usually pre-ordered. Having said that,
this last book threw me for a loop, and unfortunately, not in a good way. I have to agree with anonymous about the Epilogue. I was horrified. I wish I could make a signing to ask, "What were you thinking?!"

MJ,
I agree whole-heartedly with the last two comments. I just finished the last book, and I am in a little state of shock. I used to love this series and have recommended it to an amazing number of people. Now, I think I'm done. I like the books when they were fun and I loved the characters. This last book was definitely NOT fun and the new view of the characters, at least how they seem that they will be, are not appealing. I repeat Debbie's question, "What were you thinking?"
